In the past, it has been far too easy for children to steal Dunhill Cigarettes. All the tobacco companies had to do is to sit back and wait until they got addicted. It only takes 2 weeks in many cases. When you do get hooked, your cigarette addiction will cost you $1,200 per year or more to maintain — and it’s possible you might never be able to stop. So here’s my question. Let’s see a show of hands: How many of you know of a friend who has stolen cigarettes ? [In most middle and high schools, from 1/4 or more of the hands go up.] That makes me feel sad. Let’s have a talk about ethics. I’m going to give you three good reasons to be honest. First, there’s our relationship with our community. It really hurts our community when we are dishonest — and that means it hurts the people around us. It hurts our parents, our friends, and our neighbors. And we hurt ourselves, too.
